Inspired by travel, this series features complex landscapes that blur the line between painting and sculpture. My goal was to build deeply-textured terrains by layering oil paint and adhesives over manipulated aluminum foil. The foil’s reflectivity catches changing light, while the sculpted surfaces create depth and cast shadows that break the constraints of a canvas. This series shapes perspectives - the ever-evolving geology of Earth captured in a dimensional space. Viewers cannot help but confront the rugged complexity of our planet.
